Food Rescue Shift: Trader Joe's (Saturday)

The purpose of this food rescue shift is to help alleviate food insecurity in our community by rescuing surplus food from Trader Joe's and delivering it to the Media Food Bank located at First Church. By doing so, we prevent perfectly good food from going to waste and instead ensure it reaches those in need.

During this shift, volunteers will:

1. Visit the designated Trader Joe's location to pick up surplus food items that are still safe for consumption but would otherwise be discarded.
2. Carefully load the rescued food into the transport vehicle, ensuring proper handling to maintain food safety.
3. Drive the food directly to the Media Food Bank @ First Church.
4. Assist in unloading the rescued food items at the food bank. 

By participating in this food rescue shift, volunteers play a crucial role in bridging the gap between food waste and food insecurity. The rescued food from Trader Joe's will be distributed through the Media Food Bank @ First Church to individuals and families experiencing hunger in our local community.
